San Francisco, CA - For the first time since the San Francisco Elk's started the traditional Blood Drive at their Post street Club, they were able to top the record 100 pints by giving a total of 107 pints!

The Nighthawks joined Elk's Club members at yesterday's annual Blood Drive, to show their appreciation for the Elk's generosity in helping them fundraise for this year's WPSL season. In May, the Elk's hosted the Nighthawk's "Viva Las Vegas" Casino Night, which was a lot of fun and helped raise some much needed funds.

They were also there to honor injured WPSL player Regina Mcgee, of the FC Sacramento Pride. Regina lost a kidney in a collision with Nighthawk Kendra Shaner on May 13th. Although Regina is recovering nicely, it took 2 emergency surgeries, three weeks in the ICU and a lot of blood to get her back on her feet.

The Nighthawks own Gabina Bohlman suffered a torn liver after a collision with a goalkeeper during the Fall GGWSL season and spent three days in the ICU. This isn't your Mother's Soccer, these women play for keeps (See Bruise of the Week)!

The Nighthawks would like to thank all of the Elk's Club members and Nighthawks staff and players that gave their blood and we would like to encourage others to do the same.
