2010 WPSL TEAM OF THE WEEK VII
Co-Player of the Week honorees Hagen & Tangorra (inset) propel teams in & into the WPSL post-season

SACRAMENTO, CA (07/19/10) - The final edition of this season's Team Of The Week highlights the performances from those Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) stars who helped propel their teams in/into their respective post-season playoffs (with one note-able exception). The conclusion to the 2010 regular season in the WPSL was an enigmatic one, with the Pacific Conference going to tie-breaks to determine their 4-team playoff this weekend while in the Midwest, the dramatic conference final went to a penalty kick shootout.

With that said, the duo of Ann Marie Tangorra (LAFC Chelsea) and Sarah Hagen (F.C. Milwaukee Nationals) have been named the WPSL Co-Players Of The Week. Two of the many bright young stars in the league, Tangorra finished her first WPSL season as the league-leader in assists (7) and netted the vital goal to give her team a Pacific playoff berth while Hagen single-handedly took the Midwest title for her side, as she scored five goals in three victories this past week.

F Fiona O'Sullivan (CALIFORNIA STORM)
The Irish international has been a cornerstone for the Pacific-North Division champions this season, as she notched a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win over Spokane, eliminating them from playoff contention.

F Amanda Webster (BOSTON AZTEC U-23)
The Providence College star was a big part of Boston's 6-1 dismantling of a strong Millburn side, scoring two goals in the East Conference Quarterfinal win this past Saturday.

MF/F Sarah Hagen (F.C. MILWAUKEE NATIONALS) - WPSL Co-Player Of The Week
The U.S. U-23 National Team standout scored three against Madison in the regular season finale, and continued that strong run of play with a goal in the Midwest Semifinal win over Fort Wayne. To top that, she netted two against OP Elite in the Midwest Final victory.

MF/F Kelsey Hunyadi (OP ELITE)
The former Midwest Conference selection scored two goals in 2-2 OT loss to F.C. Milwaukee in the Midwest Final, including a goal in the penalty kick shoot-out.

MF/F Katie Lamm (LANCASTER INFERNO)
The Inferno veteran netted both goals for her side - in the 20th minute off an assist from Teresa Rynier & in the 50th on a penalty kick - to propel them to the East Semifinals and a match vs. defending WPSL Champion Long Island.

MF Sally Palmer (FSA FREEDOM)
The former UAB All-Conference selection came back on defense, scored FSA's first goal and assisted on the eventual game-winner to give her side the Sunshine title. They now travel to face F.C. Milwaukee this Saturday for a berth into 2010 Final Four.

MF Ann Marie Tangorra (LAFC CHELSEA) - WPSL Co-Player Of The Week
The young LAFC star leads the team in goals (5) and the league in assists, and once again proved to be an attacking force when her side fell behind to the Claremont on Sunday. Her goal in the 88th minute propelled LAFC into the 4-team Pacific playoffs held this weekend.

MF/D Sarah Talbert (F.C. MILWAUKEE NATIONALS)
The All-Conference selection for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee played a key defensive role in all 120 minutes of Sunday's Midwest Final against two-time defending conference champion OP Elite.

D Brielle Slepicoff (LAFC CHELSEA)
Arguably one of the best wing backs in the conference, the All-Big West Conference selection for Cal State-Northridge stepped for the LAFC defense with the loss of team captain Shanna Hudson to a broken arm.

D Chantelle Goodson (FSA FREEDOM)
The well-rounded University of South Florida wing back has been a presence for FSA this season in both the offense and defense, getting forward but never at the expense of her fellow defenders.

GK Haley Kopmeyer (ARIZONA RUSH)
The two-time Big Sky-North champions missed out on the division title & post-season berth to in-state rival Phoenix, but it wasn't because of the U.S. U-20 & University of Michigan star. She led the Rush to an undefeated season (4-0-4) while allowing only one goal past her - that's correct, ONE GOAL.
