Help Nighthawks support aspiring young soccer players of Guatemala
October 19, 2006
Watch premier women's soccer at Boxer Stadium this Saturday and make a difference.
San Francisco, CA - San Francisco Nighthawk Gabrielle Bohlman, currently playing in the GGWSL would like your help. In February 2007, Gabrielle will be traveling to Northern Guatemala to participate in a program called Volunteer Petén. When she goes, she hopes to bring with her a number of donations for the local community members. They will be organizing a youth soccer team down there so soccer equipment is desperately needed (new or used)!
This is where you can help. Come to any of the GGWSL Premier Division games to be played this Saturday, October 21st and donate cash at the gate and/or bring any of the items listed below.
GAME DATE: Saturday, October 21, 2006
GAME TIMES: 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm

Books for the community library (these need to be in Spanish), DVD’s for the library, as well as the soon to be cultural center (BE SURE that Children's movies have a Spanish Language option).
Volunteer Petèn is a 501c3 non-for-profit organization established in San Andrès, Petèn whose mission is to aid development in Guatemala by training international volunteers to participate in, design, and implement sustainable projects. Their main projects focus on environmental education, general education, reforestation, forest management, medicinal plants, and working with the public library and public schools, but volunteers also have the freedom develop any project that best suits their abilities and goals.
