San Francisco Nighthawks To Conduct Soccer Clinics

San Francisco, CA - The San Francisco Nighthawks, members of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the top ranked women’s league in the U.S. and one of the top women’s leagues in the world, will conduct a series of soccer clinics for San Francisco Bay Area youth and adults. Youth clinics are scheduled for July 22nd, August 2nd, and August 9th. Adult clinics are scheduled for August 2nd and August 9th. Teams and players can register by logging onto the Nighthawks Web site (http://sfnighthawks.com) and clicking on CLINICS at the top of the page.
The clinics will be conducted by head coach Robert Sackey and Nighthawks’ players. Sackey recently returned from Germany, where he participated in the 2006 World Cup as a member of Ghana’s National Soccer Team’s coaching staff. Nighthawks’ players have attended or are currently attending such schools as: University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, Stanford, Yale, Georgetown, San Jose State, University of New Hampshire, UC Berkeley, Long Beach State, Princeton, UC San Diego, University of Hawaii, and University of San Diego.
The clinics focus on improving players' technical and tactical skills. Coach Sackey and Nighthawks players will teach fundamental skills such as dribbling, trapping, shooting, and small game strategies. The clinics are designed to improve player techniques and skills and to foster the development of friendships and a love of the game!
The Nighthawks travel next to Las Vegas for a WPSL Western Division game against the Tabagators on Saturday night. They end the season July 15th and 16th at home against Ajax America Women and San Diego WFC Sea Lions, 4th and 1st respectively in the West. Both games will be played at 1:00 p.m. at Kezar Stadium. Players that register for clinic sessions at either game will get a $10 discount per session!
