Hawks Score On GGWSL Premier Division
May 12, 2006

All-time scoring leader Christina "Q"

San Francisco, CA - Led by "Q", Cristina Quintero, (the all-time scoring leader in San Francisco State University (SFSU) history), the Nighthawks scored three Golden Gate Women's Soccer League (GGWSL) Premier Division victories in four days to remain in first place in the division.

The Hawks are currently 6-0-1 in GGWSL play with 26 goals for and 7 against. Over the weekend, the Hawks got scores from Nora Tomlinson-Wei (3), Cristina Quintero (2), Jessie Beers-Altman (2), Elena Desantis, Kristina Hall, Ashley Relf, Shannon Strong and Lucia Lainez.

Quintero, who leads the GGWSL Premier Division with 10 goals, is a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. Her work oftentimes combines captivating and creative footwork with moving into a position occupied by an opposing player.

Former Georgetown player, Jessie Beers-Altman, with 5 goals, is second to Quintero in goals scored in the Premier Division with Lucia Lainez (Hawaii Pacific) and Nora Tomlinson-Wei in fourth place with 3 goals each. In addition to all the goals that the Hawks have been scoring, team defense is getting the job done as well.

The Hawks are reigning GGWSL Premier Division champions having won the title in Spring 2005 and Fall 2005. The GGWSL is a 54 team, 8 division regional league with relegation and promotion.
