Nighthawks - Reigning GGWSL Champs

San Francisco, CA - The Nighthawks are reigning Premier Division champs of the 54 team, 8 division Golden Gate Women's Soccer League having won the division in the Spring of 2005 as well as Fall of 2005....Cristina Quintero ("Q"), the leading scorer in San Francisco State Women's Soccer history, continued her strong play that also netted her the distinction of being named to the 2005 Women's Premier Soccer League's (WPSL), 1st Team West Division All-Stars.

"Q", as she is known to teammates, scored 9 goals in 10 games in GGWSL play to win the eight team Premier Division scoring title by 4 goals. Q had lots of help in winning the division as the Hawks scored more goals and allowed fewer goals than any team in their division. In addition to Q's goals, the Hawks got three each from Elena Desantis, Jordan Iantorno, and Shannon Strong. The team collected two goals each from Kristina Hall, Angela Santiago, and Krisha Zagura while Dani Gilbert, Ashley Relf, Toni Sander, and Meredith White contributed 1 each.

This spring, the Nighthawks will play friendlies against leading WPSL teams, participate in college and amateur tournaments, play friendlies against regional D1 colleges and universities, and defend their GGWSL Premier Division Spring league title in preparation for, what's expected to be, a very competitive WPSL season beginning in June 2006.
