Nighthawks Give Back to the Community
September 12, 2005
San Francisco, CA - Throughout all the training, the games and the social acitivities, the Nighthawks remain focused on their close involvement and support of the community and the troubles of people who are stricken with devastating problems.
In February of this year, the Hawks, along with Club Marin, hosted their first annual 7v7 tournament with proceeds going to Tsunami Relief. In keeping with their commitment to community, the Hawks, in conjunction with SF Parks & Rec Trust and Kezar Stadium, hosted a GGWSL league game against the Mad Hatters with all proceeds going to benefit the Mission Youth Soccer League.
The game generated $1782 which was matched by the Trust's funds to provided full uniforms and additional equipment for 30 teams in the MYSL. The response from the "Chivas" club teams has been very gratifying as they supported the Hawks by being the best "ball-kids" at WPSL home games.
