What a game. It had it all: great soccer, tension and drama. The work rate on both teams was phenomenal as neither team wanted to be the one to commit the first mistake. There were lots of shots and some near misses, but after 90 minutes the game ended 0-0. Both teams retired to the north goal and under the twilight of the sun and glow of the streetlights from the parking lot, they tested their luck with penalty kicks. Still the quality continued with some superbly taken spot kicks. Eventually though, something had to give and with both teams heading into their 10th kick, deadlocked at 7:7, up stepped the Nighthawks keepr to test her luck at the lottery. She went low and to the right and even though the Olympic Keeper went full stretch, she couldn't keep it out and it squeezed in the side of the net. you could feel her relief. Next up was the Olympic Club. The shot was well struck and on frame but it was to be the Nighthawks' Keeper's night. She parried it out and was mobbed by her team mates. It was truly a memorable night and I think the estimate crowd of 150 thoroughly enjoyed themselves (as well as the Nighthawks Keeper)

The game was a wonderful win for the Hawks and continued their dominance by finishing in the top two slots over the last three seasons.
