Hawks Charity Event a Success!

San Francisco, CA - The Nighthawks squared off against the Mad Hatters in a Charity Match event that featured several WPSL stars including Sissi, world renowned Brazilian soccer star. The event, the goal of which was to raise funds for the Mission Youth Soccer League and Horace Mann Middle School, kicked off with a youth clinic in which approximately 150 children participated. Afterwards, the Hawks and the Hatters played an intense game, the first half of which was dominated by the Hawks with two goals to show for it. The Hatters, not be outdone, came out strong in the second half tying the score up at 2-2. Nighthawk, Tenley Garcia, then scored on a breakaway from the midfield, edging the Hawks into the lead. The Mad Hatters were unable to equalize and went home with a 3-2 defeat.

San Francisco Supervisor, Tom Ammiano, an advocate for the afterschool program at Horace Mann Middle School, came out to show his support for women's soccer and the MYSL. The event raised $1782 for the MYSL and Horace Mann Middle School.
